The ROPA method (Reception of Oocytes from the Partner) or dual maternity method is an in-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment for women couples.
This technique consists in extracting eggs from one of the two women, fertilizing them with sperm (from a donor) and implanting the embryo obtained in the uterus of its partner.
Thus, both women participate actively in the process, one of them as a biological mother (the one who gives up the egg) and the other as a surrogate mother (the one who becomes pregnant).
